African Cork Stool
Manufactured in Cape Town from organic and completely recyclable dark or light cork.
The dark cork is manufactured from recycled cork particles and is produced industrially without the use of additives and requires low energy consumption. Whereby the light cork is 98.5% natural with a small amount of adhesive to bind the granules, making it durable and user-friendly.
The African Cork Stools are available in four shapes.
Only the dark grade cork is suitable for outdoor use.

Cork Stool With Backrest
Manufactured in Cape Town from 100% organic and completely recyclable dark or light cork. The backrest structure is fabricated from electro-galvanized mild steel and finished in a durable black ferrograin powder coat. Each stool is fitted with a custom steel kick plate.
The timber backrest is fabricated from solid hardwood, finished in either matte black or natural timber. (The natural option is sealed with a satin varnish.) Please note that colour options for the steel and timber can be specified on request.

Manufactured in Cape Town from organic and completely recyclable dark facade cork with unique, imported Italian terrazzo.
The combination of materials create a design that explores the relationship between texture, colour & proportion.
All steel parts are manufactured from stainless-steel and aluminium, powder-coated with a durable outdoor coating.
This product is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and can also be manufactured from a light-grade cork, which is suitable for indoor use only.

Glass and Painted Cork Chair
This piece plays with paint pigments to emphasize the unique texture of the cork in combination with the smooth surface and contemporary feel of the glass. The cork as material is transformed with a coat of unique Mexican blue paint: It retains its unique texture and sustainable properties, and its durability is further enhanced by the paint

These bar stools are manufactured from 100mm thick cork and engineered steel components. The steel structure is electro-galvanised, and powder coated in a durable ferrograin powder, custom colours can be specified.

Meld Bench
These 2m composite benches are designed to be relatively light in weight and suited for outdoor use. This specific bench is manufactured from a mixture of coloured cement, natural minerals and stone, polished and left with a unique texture.
Each bench is fitted with black powder coated or patinated stainless steel legs.

Mazambuko Bench
Carved and shaped by hand from a solid Bilinga beam, sealed with a durable Water-based varnish, or ebonised and sealed with a durable water-based varnish.
The bench is fitted with Wiid Design’s signature stainless steel legs, powder-coated in a durable Ferrograin black, or mild steel legs with a tarnished brass finish, sealed with a clear wax to prevent oxidation.

Douglas Fir Timber Bench
All our timber benches are unique one-off pieces, if benches are sold, then Wiid Design can present different timber and bench leg options.
This Bench was designed and fabricated from a 3.2m-Douglas Fir beam, the timber beam is estimated to be over 100 years old. Finished by hand and sealed with natural wax. The legs consist of 4.5mm bent stainless steel, finished in a dark charcoal grey ferrograin powder coat. All components are assembled with polished stainless steel fittings.

Finnish Birch ply, joined by hand with dark timber inlays, finished with a non-yellowing natural varnish.

A vibrant interpretation of Sotho culture, a collaboration by Wiid Design and Khosi Leteba.
The initial bench concept was designed by the up-and-coming designer Khosi Leteba and brought to life by Wiid Design, with Creative Direction by Tracy Lynch of the Nando’s Design Programme, Clout.

The bench seat is manufactured from high-quality upholstered leather with artworks and graphics printed onto the surface.

Bodulo Plywood and Cork Bench
A vibrant interpretation of Sotho culture, a collaboration by Wiid Design and Khosi Leteba.
The initial bench concept was designed by the up-and-coming designer Khosi Leteba and brought to life by Wiid Design, with Creative Direction by Tracy Lynch of the Nando’s Design Programme, Clout.
Manufactured by hand from high-quality Finish Birch ply, finished and coated in a durable Satin lacquer. The graphics and artworks are applied by hand and sprayed with 3 coats of Blanco matte white Montana spray paint.
The seat is machined from solid 25mm thick dark composite cork, left natural, untreated but sanded to a smooth finish.
